Our Stronghold robot was named Highlander after our team name, Highlanders.
This was our team's first robot. Our robot is able to score in low goal and cross many defenses. Our robot was able to cross the ramparts, low bar, and the sally port.
Our robot was able to take the game pieces called, boulders, in and shooting into low goal. It can not scale the tower at the last few seconds of the game.
Boulder Intake Mechanism
Our robot was able to take in the game pieces called boulders, which are soft kick ball like balls that is shown below on the left. Our ball intake mechanism worked by using CIM motors to spin Cylinder shaped tubes. The robot would go up to the ball, and the driver would press a button to spin the CIM motors. The Cylinder would spin counterclockwise to take a ball in. To release a ball into a tower, an other button is pressed to spin the Cylinder clockwise to release the ball.
