Aside from building robots that compete in the FIRST Robotics Competitions, we also spend our time building an interest in STEM within our community. We have attended many local events from Fluff Festival to Tufts Community Day. We also run our own Summer Robotics Program and STEM programs for middle grade students.
Below is a list of some of the many events that the team has attended or ran. To see what events out team is attending, check out or follow our social media. We post about upcoming events on our Instagram (frc6201) and Twitter (@frc6201)

Fluff Festival: 2017 - Present
|
We first made an appearance at Fluff Festival for our first time on September 23rd, 2017. We were invited to this event and decided to build a robot that shoots marshmallows. This robot ended up being our beloved robot named Candy Bot. In the past, we have brought coloring pages of the robot for children to bring home. Since 2019 we have brought our S'more making robot to Fluff Festival.

Tufts Community Day: 2017 - 2019, 2022
|
On September 24th, 2017, we participated in Tufts Community Day. We brought Candy bot to this event, but this time the robot was loaded with tootsie rolls instead of marshmallows. We also had coloring pages of the robot for children to bring home and color.
Since then we have attend Tufts Community Day with Candy bot. |
SomerStreets: 2017 - 2018, 2022
|
SomerStreets is our city take on the internationally-renowned Open Streets concept, closing busy city streets to vehicles, and opening them up for cycling, walking, dancing, running, and other types of activity. In 2017, our team was invited to the SomerStreets event called Monster Mashed-Up theme. It included Halloween themed music, activities, and a parade
We brought our marshmallow/candy shooting robots and we filled the robot up with candy. In 2018, we did the same thing but we also sold our Marshmallow launcher kits. |
FRC 2877's FLL Competition: 2018 - 2019
|
In 2018, our team was reached out by FIRST Robotics Competition team 2877 The Ligerbots. They invited us to demonstrate one of our team’s robots to their Eastern MA State FIRST Lego League Robotics Competition. We brought our marshmallow/candy shooting robot. We demonstrated our robot along with three other FRC teams.
In 2019, we were invited again. This time we brought our S'mores Bot and gave out S'mores. |
CreatedBy Festival: 2023
|
In 2023, we were contacted by New England FIRST to join them in promoting FIRST Robotics.
At the event we launched mini rubber ducks as a safer indoor alternative. At this event, children were able to interact with CandyBot by pressing buttons which activated the cannons and launched the ducks. Once the ducks hit the floor, the children were able to take as many as they wanted home. We had the opportunity to talk with local BattleBots teams about their robots and the competition. |
