S'more Bot
During the summer, we created S'more bot as a way to fundraiser during Fluff Festival and other local events. We also built it as a way to show the community what people can do with robotics. S'more bot was built with a mix of PLCs from Automation Direct, pneumatics from previous FRC robots, and pneumatics from SMC USA.
S'more bot works in many steps. First, the marshmallow suction cup picks up a marshmallow from the marshmallow loading station. This suction cup brings the marshmallow to the oven where it roasts the marshmallow.
While the marshmallow is being brought to the oven, another suction cup picks up a graham cracker from the graham cracker hopper. The suction cup then places the graham cracker on the plate that is in the middle of the robot.
Once the graham cracker is placed on the tray, another suction cup gets a piece of chocolate from the chocolate loading station. Then the suction cup places the chocolate on top of the graham cracker. While the S'more bot is placing the graham cracker and the chocolate, and after the marshmallow suction cup moves to the oven, the roasting begins! The oven turns on and the marshmallow is placed inside the oven while still being held onto by the marshmallow suction cup.
After the marshmallow is done roasting, the suction cup places the roasted marshmallow on top of the chocolate. Next, the same suction cup from the first graham cracker places a new graham cracker on top, compressing the S'more. Lastly, the tray is moved out from the safety wall so the customer can take their new treat.
