Stronghold: 2016
We competed in FIRST Stronghold as a 1st year team. This year our challenge involved grey foam balls called Boulders and different types of defenses. Teams start off autonomously shooting Boulders in the high goal and/or low goal. Teams could also cross the defenses to gain points. After autonomous, drivers take control and teams continue to score by shooting in the high goal and/or low goal, or by crossing the defenses. At a period of the match called End Game, teams climb on the Castle to try to get more points.
For more information about the competition, watch the official FIRST Stronghold animation to the right. See below for information about the team's season and robot. |

2016 Robot Info
Auto
In the auto period, our robot was able to cross the low bar, one of the obstacles, using a time function in the code. ball intake
Our intake mechanism worked by using CIM motors to spin cylinder shaped tubes. The robot would go up to the ball, and the driver would press a button to spin the CIM motors. The cylinder would spin counterclockwise to take a ball in. To release a ball into a tower, an other button is pressed to spin the cylinder clockwise to release the ball. |
